[Harp-L] Re: Peavy 30 Classic
Amongst the discussion of the Classic 30, I would like to make plug for
another old Peavey amp: the 1980's Studio Pro (not the newer 112 model).
This amp was 20 watts, with a later model being 40 watts. You should be able
to find them in 2nd hand guitar stores. I notice one on ebay at the moment.
The amp itself is not too heavy, is indestructible, and is loud enough for
small to moderate size gigs. Its an all transistor amp, and I suppose
doesn't have quite the tone of the classic valve ones. Having said that, its
still pretty damm good. I've had mine for over 20 years, and will never part
with it.
So. If you see one of these amps in a 2nd hand shop, try it out. You may end
up taking it home.
